A new look at the formation of petroleum Saatli-Goycha-Mugan burial zone

According to results of the comparison and analysis of existing tectonic and geological maps, just on the basis of an integrated interpretation of gravity maps with the results of other methods of geophysics and drilling, it is assumed that the geodynamic processes that occurred at the end of the Mesozoic era, played a major role in shaping modern tectonics of the western side South Caspian. Unfortunately, the «traces» of geodynamic processes, which are reflected in the gravity map, absolutely not taken into account and is not included in the mapping of tectonic zoning. Subsequently, this approach is the cause of hundreds of «empty» wells on the western side of the South Caspian.

Investigation of gas-phase composition, separated out of oil shale of Kuonamka formation by various means

The data on the yield and the composition of the gaseous products of thermal degradation and mechanical treatment of Kuonamka Formation oil shale (Eastern Siberia) are presented. It is established that the thermal decomposition of the shale leads to a maximum yield of the gas phase in comparison with their mechanical treatment. The calculated data showed that the thermolysis gas has a higher calorific value compared to gaseous products of the shale mechanical treatment.

Experimental results on water influx restriction in producer wells using hydrophobe composition

The most of oil fields at the last stage of development are characterized by high degree of flooding of a product extracted from the well. At this stage, flooding of produced raw material reaches 70-98% and annual increment of flooding rate is about 3-7%. As a result, oil recovery factor for most of the fields does not exceed 30-40 %. On the other hand, formation water produced from wells along with the oil negatively impacts the atmosphere and ground surface leading to a significant environmental imbalance.

Assessment of the mode of deformation of pipes of the main oil line in the conditions of change of the mode of pumping by turning on (off) the main pumps

In the article, the mode of deformation of pipes of the main oil line at change of productivity of transfer by turning on (off) the main pumps is considered. Analytical dependencies between the greatest additional tensions in pipe walls and parameters of rapid change of pressure inside of the oil pipeline, geometrical specifications of the pipe and mechanical properties of metal were obtained. Analytical dependencies were obtained for sections of connection of pipes with equal and varying wall thickness, for connection of pipes with equipment with higher deformation rigidity. It is shown that additional tension in some cases reaches the scales representing danger to integrity of pipes and reliability of operation of the main oil pipeline. The need to develop measures to decrease high tensions is indicated.

Keywords: main oil line, pumping mode, pressure increase, mechanical stress, life and safety of pipeline.

Application of «Neftegaz» series bactericidal inhibitor for protecting downhole equipment against microbiological corrosion in flooded wells at «Oil Rocks»

Corrosion aggressiveness of watered wells of «Oil Rocks» field, exploited in gaslift mode, was searched. As showed chemical and microbiological analysis of passing-mined water of wells, the composition of well production consists of such aggressive components as ions of chloride, sulphate, hydrogen sulphide, likewise a big amount of corrosion – aggressive microorganisms – sulphatereducing bacterias, iron bacterias. According to Sulin, layer water is of hydro carbonate type, although calcium chloride type is met. Underground equipment of watered oil producing in «Oil Rocks» field wells is subject to common and pitting corrosion in general. In its turn it is characterized with local damages and holes. On purpose of troublefree exploitation of underground equipment of «Oil Rocks» field wells, an effective protection is necessary with the help of bactericide-inhibitor, as the given method occurs to be available and economically expedient.

Keywords: flooding, microorganisms, biogenic sulfide, pitting, bactericide-inhibitor.

Integral criteria development for technical state and lifespan assessment of machine assembly in oil and gas industry

Machine assembly failure in oil and gas production enterprises can lead to emergency situations involving significant economic and ecological damage. In modern conditions industrial safety problems at the same enterprises require the use of integral criteria which allow to identify the current technical state and predict the remaining life of machine assembly. The criteria are necessary to create modern intellectual management systems for technical condition and machine assembly operating safety to estimate their present integral technical condition and residual life. The questions of complex estimation of the technical state of oil and gas machinery assembly with the integral criteria usage are not enough analyzed while considering service conditions, factors of the fire and explosion dangerous production, technical lifetime, risks and expense of the service reliability assurance. Therefore, the relevant objective is to develop integral criteria for assessment of technical state and lifespan of machine assembly to prevent emergency situations in oil and gas industrial facilities.

Keywords: machine assembly, estimation of the technical state, operating safety, higher harmonic components, factors of the fire and explosion dangerous, integral criteria.

Retrospective review and forecast of the technical-and-economic characteristics of alternative energy sources

The article is devoted to analysis of the use and prospects for the expanded use of primary energy sources. In the first phase of the investigation conventional and alternative energy sources are considered, their typology from the perspective directions of use is given. There are three groups: conventional hydrocarbon sources, unconventional hydrocarbon sources and alternative renewable energy sources. In the second phase to assess the relevance and competitiveness of different energy sources justified the use of two indicators - energy return on investment (EROI) and the market price of the primary energy source. In the third investigation phase, the analysis of indicators’ changes dynamics for the second half of the XX century and forecast of future changes in the XXI century in all three groups of energy sources are given. It is predicted, that EROI of conventional hydrocarbon sources will decrease and prices will rise. The significant decline in prices and the growth of EROI for unconventional hydrocarbon sources and alternative renewable energy sources are expected. The result of the fourth phase of the investigation is the forecast of the replacement conventional primary energy sources with alternative energy sources. In the end, it is shown that the dynamics of the EROI and prices of conventional hydrocarbon sources will lead to the need for active development of wind, solar and other alternative renewable energy sources. Unconventional hydrocarbons will allow to extend a little the dominant role of mineral resources in the market of motor fuels and fuel to generate electricity, but in the long term it should be seen primarily as raw materials for the petrochemical industry.

Keywords: alternative energy, conventional energy sources, EROI, energy return on investment.

Simulation and history matching of a shale gas reservoir using different models in eagle ford basin

Many uncertain factors exist in modeling shale gas well performance, such as selection of flow models, simulation of hydraulic fracture, inclusion of adsorbed gas. The purpose of current study is to investigate the impact of these factors on production. One multi-stage fractured horizontal well in Eagle Ford Basin is modeled and done history matching. It is founded that the model selection of multi and dual-porosity, instant and time-dependent sorption is significant on production forecasting, while the approaches of negative skin factor and discrete fractures for hydraulic fracture modeling are less important. It is also resulted that the production decline rate increases with the reduction of free gas proportion.

Study on a new polydentate pyridylamine and its complexes: synthesis, supramolecular structure and properties

New ligand, N2-(6-aminopyridin-2-yl)-N6-(pyridin-2-yl)pyridine-2,6-diamine (abbreviated as tripyridyltriamine – H3tptra) (1), its protonated analog [H4tptra](ClO4) (2) and copper(II) (3), nickel(II) (4), iron(II) (5) and cobalt(II) (6) complexes have been synthesized and structurally characterized. The protonated ligand cation (2) exhibits an anti-anti-syn-anti-syn conformation. H3tptra coordinates to the Cu(II) as a quadridentate ligand in 3. The copper(II) ion is six-coordinated in an elongated octahedral coordination geometry. The perchlorate anions are relatively weakly coordinated in the axial positions. In complexes Ni(II), Fe(II) and Co(II) two ligands are bound directly to the metal ion as tridentate to give a MN6 chromophore (M-metal atom). Extensive hydrogen bonds are formed and construct the compound 2 into 1D and 3 into 3D supramolecular structure, whereas dimer structure have been found for 4 and 5 complexes through hydrogen bonds. X-band EPR spectra of Cu(II) complex showed well-resolved hyperfine structure resulting from the two paramagnetic isotopes 63Cu and 65Cu (g = 2.128 and A0 = 62.7 × 10-4 cm-1) and also superhyperfine coupling from four 14N (I = 1) atoms, yielding A//N = 16 × 10-4 cm-1 and A N = 9 × 10-4 cm-1. The magnetic behavior of 6 obeys the Curie-Weiss law. The best fitting result according to the Curie-Weiss expression leads to a value of g = 2.49 and θ = −3.71 K.
