Paleogeographic conditions of sedimentation of the Late Cretaceous deposits in the northern-eastern slope of the Lesser Caucasus

The method of paleogeographic reconstructions proposed by Ch.R Relto based on the application of quantitative approach for construction of lithological-facies maps was used for studying of paleogeography and depositional environment of the northern-eastern slope of the Lesser Caucasus in the Late Cretaceous epoch. The maps were constructed with application of an entropy similar function, which makes these maps more informative compared with the ordinary lithological-facies maps. The location of ancient land as well as islands and sediment sources are better recognized in such maps. The islands in the northern-eastern slope of the Lesser Caucasus widely occurred in the Coniacian, Santonian and Maastrichtian ages.

Presence of Qala layer group in the north-western part of the Аbsheron Archipelago and prospects of its oil and gas bearing capacity

In the article the distribution of oil and gas and prospective borders are outlined in the lower divisions of the Qala layer group (QaLD) of the the north-west productive layer (MQ) in the Absheron archipelago. The distribution of field units produced defining borders is unsatisfactory in the Absheron archipelago of in the north-west of the tectonic structure due to complex structures due to the presence of MQ and spreading of QaLD, Qırmakıaltı (QA). To improve this situation, we have compiled a number of geological and geophysical profiles and new top structure maps and compared well log diagrams of QaLD, QA. This has resulted in a more extensive spread. In recent years, the south-eastern part of the Darwin and Northern part of jud Pirallahi exploration wells have been drilled providing enhanced information on QaLD stratigraphy as well as giving an opportunity to clarify the tectonic situation. The QaLD of the south-east of Darwin pitcher high pereclina at cupola in the South and North blocks Pirallahi under overlap fault Pirallahi high plus and extensive distribution was revealed. Has been known that, plus the third block of South Pirallahi high so far as the QAз ditch of what rock should be in full-QaLD. Deposits of the Absheron Archipelago in the South and the oil flows from QaLD Pirallahi high block plus deposits in North and South in this perspective that views on the block say Pirallahi high under overlap fault gives. As a result of research work carried out to clarify the QaLD oil-gas content North and South Pirallahi fields of exploration drilling is recommended, the settlements of project wells are on the map.

Research of chisel solutions interaction mechanism on rock mechanical characteristics

The process of destruction of rocks whilst drilling occurs in the environment of a drilling fluid. Therefore it is necessary to understand the influence of this environment on the mechanical properties of breeds, a filtrate of the drilling solution moistening breed. In the following, readers may note, that common a fault of research methods into the influence of filtrates of various drilling solutions on swelling of clay breeds is that in almost all of them the intense-deformed condition of breeds of walls of a well is not considered. The behaviour of the breeds composing walls of a well, is in many respects defined by a choice of type of a drilling solution.

Sand plug washing with gassy fluids

It is well known that in the overwhelming majority of cases of sand plug liquidation process water is used, which can causes the early loss of producing wells. In this article a heterogenic system fluidization is studied in order to create a more economic gassy fluid washing using as working agent different systems composed of water, carbon dioxide, natural gases, polymers and surfactants. As a result of carrying out these tests conclusions have been drawn about the improvement of the efficiency of the gassy fluid washing process by using liquid-gas mixtures in a pre-transitional state (including surfactant additives).

Research of parameters bottom hole zone at operation of inclined and horizontal wells

It is not uncommon in offshore development of oil fields to use inclined, horizontal and also multilateral horizontal wells. Examples of development of highly heterogeneous, multilayer oil fields are presented. When carrying out geotechnical and technological activities with the purpose of increase of reservoir recovery it is necessary to account for the hydrodynamic properties of wells and the definition of filtration parameters to estimate the anisotropies of layers. For this purpose, in this work, results of a hydrodynamic determination of wells from the "Guneshli" oil field are reported. Further, the measured pressue build-up (PBU) of wells is achieved without a stopping production but instead changing the choke setting, so decreasing well downtime. Curves of the PBU are constructed using as coordinates Δр - f (lnt) and Δр - f(√t). On angular factors, and also the pieces cut from an axis of ordinates on known dependences parameters k1/k2, ℵ/rc2 are certain. If to we use the expression piezoconductivity, the number of variables can be reduced to four. Thus, data processing of research pseudohorizontal wells (inclined wells) a method of pressure recovery allow self-descriptiveness interpretations of research results, because the character of the PBU is correlated with a time dependent change of the flow geometry. This method has been applied to investigate the parameters of wells 171, 173 and 296 in the "Guneshli" oil field. In offshore conditions, it is very costly to shut in wells for bottom hole pressure measurements. It is not now necessary to shut in wells for determining the zonal parameters of wells but it is sufficient change the operating mode of wells.

Choice and substantiation of hydrogeochemical criteria for the purpose of the flooding process control in Fasila layer group of "Guneshli" oil-gas condensate field

Comparison of amount of the components participating in a chemical compound of mixes of Fasila layer group water in the "Guneshli" oil - gas condensate field compared with injected waters of Caspian sea in various ratio with theoretically calculated concentrations shows that for definition of sites of penetration of sea water, the investigation should be performed in two stages. In the first stage, directions of change concentration of components must be defined caused by the influence of sea water as a part of mixed where there is an increase in concentration of the ions Ca2+, Mg2+, SO42- and amount of ions Na+ + K+, and a decrease in the ions Cl- HCO3- CO32- RCOO- HB4O7-. In the second stage for definition of percentage of Caspian Sea water, it is recommended to use the known formula based on change of concentration of chlorine ions.

Improvement efficiency of sucker – rod pump

In order to decrease sucker rod pumping unit sucker rod suspender load in sucker rod string construction it is suggested to use a transforming mechanism. The paper outlines the description of construction, its power design and comparative analysis with to existing constructions. It is suggested to use such transforming mechanism in sucker rod string construction. The transforming mechanism consists of an upper and lower hydro cylinders with piston. Rod strings are divided into two parts. On the lower hydrocylinder the piston rod upper end of sucker rod is secured in the lower end of which the sucker rod pump plunger is suspended.

Role of oil-and-gas sector in the structure of world gross domestic product and analysis of its change in long-term outlook

Oil is the most important source of energy. It is not surprising that not only professional participants of the market but also the wider public pay close attention to oil prices. Falls and rises of world oil prices will gradually result in acceleration of energy-saving technologies and the development and mastering of new sources of energy. The effect of these efforts will be more evident from year to year and in the next decades will result in change of components of world gross domestic product. Gross domestic product is a resumptive economic indicator and consists of aggregate value of all types of goods and services produced within a year without dividing used resources into imported and domestic ones.

The article considers the behavior of world gross domestic product within the period 1999, 2010 and provides a forecast up to 2020, indicating the causes that affect its growth. The article provides a table of world gross domestic product and population growth as well as net profit change within the periods considered. The behavior of net profit against the background of world gross domestic product growth is presented in the diagram. The ratio of main spheres of gross domestic product is illustrated with the scheme where the segments of each sector are indicated:

  • traditional sphere of economics 70.2%
  • oil-and-gas sector 24.65%
  • innovations and high-technology industry 5.15%

The article considers in detail each sector of gross domestic product composition and factors affecting its change. Issues on development of alternative energy sources, nanotechnologies and those on ecology are touched upon among these factors. The change of composition of main spheres of gross domestic product in the next decades has been analyzed. Conclusions have been made based upon the analysis performed.

Superstability of surface nanobubbles

Shock wave induced cavitation experiments and atomic force microscopy measurements of flat polyamide and hydrophobized silicon surfaces immersed in water are performed. It is shown that surface nanobubbles, present on these surfaces, do not act as nucleation sites for cavitation bubbles, in contrast to the expectation. This implies that surface nanobubbles are not just stable under ambient conditions but also under enormous reduction of the liquid pressure down to -6 MPa. We denote this feature as superstability.)
